I have a the volano chat Java applet running on my server, and it allows you to pass cgi script into it.. I am wondering if it is possible once logged into the forums to port the current username across in a variable somehow so that I can use that for the chat program as their username when they connect to it?

hmm.. maybe  Check the chat modification LK built to see how he integrated jpilot with ubb's member files.
